The 13th annual European Tour Properties Invitational took place in Girona, Spain, last week, with the host team from PGA Catalunya Resort victorious in the international team tournament.

Competitors were treated to tournament quality fairways and greens at the three-time Open de España venue as well as first class service in the resort’s new 5 star Hotel Camiral.

Ultimately, it was the Spanish ‘home’ team led by Miguel Girbes, Director of Golf at PGA Catalunya Resort, with Alicia Garrido, Iñigo Aramburu and David Bataller who prevailed.

Patrick Murphy, Director Leisure Business at PGA Catalunya Resort, said: “We were delighted to welcome our fellow venues to PGA Catalunya Resort for the annual European Tour Properties Invitational so they could enjoy both of our stunning courses and sample first-hand the delights of our recently opened 5 star Hotel Camiral.”

The European Tour Properties Invitational has become a popular event within the programme of activities provided for Member Venues. First staged in 2002, this year’s edition saw a total of 14 teams from across the network competing, along with representatives of partners Club Car, Toro and Landmark Golf Marketing & Communications, whose media team included leading golf journalists and editors from France, Germany and the UK.

Iain McInally, Director of Operations for European Tour Properties, said: “The Invitational is always a great few days, and a fantastic opportunity for our network to socialise on and off the golf course, and this year’s event was once again hugely successful.

“PGA Catalunya Resort were perfect hosts, even if their team did make full use of home advantage to win. I am sure the time spent at the stunning resort was constructive and enjoyable for all those who attended.”
