By Emily Kay 6 years ago

The Moscow Country Club, the largest golf club in Russia celebrated its 25th anniversary on October 6.

The construction of the golf course in Nakhabino started in 1988. The first Russian Open tournament was held on a nine-hole golf course in 1993, and a real championship course of 18 holes with an area of 7,174 square yards was ready in 1994.

The Moscow Country Club annually hosts over 60 tournaments. In 2018, it played host to the third prestigious professional tournament, Russian Open Golf Championship (Senior), a stage of the European Tour highly assessed by the participants and the Staysure Tour management.

Over years, the Moscow Country Club has been the largest golf club in the country. Quarter of a century united the club collective. Twenty-four players have been club members for over 20 years.

Thousands of golfers have learned how to play this wonderful game at the Moscow Country Club. Most Russian professional golfers, including five national golf champions, were raised by the club.

The children’s golf academy was founded in 1997. An overwhelming majority of young Russian golfers, who have the master of sports title, are graduates of the Nakhabino school.

More than 20 years ago the Moscow Country Club established the International Charity Golf Tournament, which raises donations for charities helping disabled children.  This year the club hosted the 23rd charity event.

We congratulate members and the collective of the Moscow Country Club golf club on the anniversary! We wish you success, development, and prosperity!
