15 years of The Dutch – A Milestone Worth Celebrating

By ekay 2 weeks ago

This May, The Dutch will celebrate two special milestones: the club’s 15th anniversary and 25 years of Made in Scotland. It is a moment that reflects both where it all began and how far it has come.

When the Founders launched Made in Scotland, they had a clear ambition. Its success later led to the idea of creating a golf club of their own: a place where Clan Members and business relations could be welcomed in a way that truly reflected their vision. That idea became The Dutch. What was once considered unlikely grew into one of Europe’s leading courses, built with vision, commitment and the belief that quality should be felt in every detail. Since opening in May 2011, The Dutch has earned a firm place within Dutch and international golf, hosting major tournaments and becoming part of exclusive networks such as European Tour Destinations and IMG Prestige.

Fifteen years on, that same foundation still defines the club. The Dutch remains committed to top level golf, paired with service and hospitality of the highest standard. At the same time, the club continues to evolve, making thoughtful choices based on international developments and the feedback of its Members. That balance between staying true to its identity and continuing to move forward is what has shaped The Dutch into the club it is today.

That spirit also lies at the heart of the upcoming anniversary week. More than a celebration of the past, it reflects the kind of club The Dutch is today: a place where golf, connection, gastronomy and experience come together in a way that feels current, distinctive and relevant to different generations of Members. The club itself describes this shift clearly. With an average Member age of 52, The Dutch remains the youngest golf club in the Netherlands, and that profile continues to evolve. Golf is no longer, for everyone, the only purpose of the day. More and more, it forms part of a wider experience that includes meeting others, working, dining and spending time well.

The anniversary week programme reflected exactly that thinking.

It began on 12 May with The Dutch NextGen Invitational, aimed at business golfers under 40, with Members invited to bring a guest. The programme combined sport and atmosphere, with an inspiring speaker, live entertainment by 19th Collective, food and drinks, a shotgun start, fun elements and competitive elements.

On 13 May, the focus shifted to The Dutch Business Invitational, designed for business golfers over 40, again for Members and a guest. With the same blend of golf, hospitality, entertainment and competition, the day was built around both quality and connection.

On 15 May, The Dutch hosted The Dutch Signature Invitational, created especially for Founders and Clan Members, without guests. This day featured an inspiring speaker, live entertainment, Revolt Classic, food and drinks, a shotgun format, as well as fun and competitive elements.

On 16 May, tradition took centre stage during The Dutch Invitational Member Member, reserved for Members. Live entertainment by 19th Collective and DJ Jody Bernal, alongside food and drinks and a shotgun start, gave this long standing format a celebratory anniversary feel.

The week concluded on 17 May with The Dutch Family Day, created for Members, with employees and a plus one welcome to join for drinks and dinner. The day included a children’s activity area, a DJ, food and drinks, a 9 hole shotgun and a masterclass, making it a more informal and family oriented close to the week.

Taken together, these five days say a great deal about the direction of The Dutch. The club continues to invest not only in the course, but also in its people, its service and the full experience around the game. That ambition is also visible within the organisation itself, where The Dutch continues to invest in development, craftsmanship and standards across the board, including through its partnership with 59Club. The goal is clear: to keep raising the level, not in one area, but throughout the club as a whole.

The anniversary week feels like more than a celebration alone. It is also a statement of intent: a way of thanking Members for their trust over the years, while looking ahead to the future with the same energy and conviction.

That may be what makes this anniversary week feel so fitting. It honours the history of The Dutch, but it also reflects the club’s future. A future in which golf remains the foundation, while the wider experience around it continues to grow stronger.
