Golf Club St. Leon-Rot boasts two championship courses. The St Leon course, host of The 2015 Solheim Cup, designed by renowned English architect Dave Thomas, is a tribute to links golf with much of its layout reminiscent of Scottish and Irish golf courses. The course played host to The European Tour’s flagship German event, the Deutsche Bank – SAP Open TPC of Europe, in 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2004, with Tiger Woods winning on the first three occasions. The equally appealing Rot Course winds through the estate’s meadow landscape, and presents a fair golfing challenge.
The venue’s nine-hole short course is a great place to hone one’s short game or a perfect step up for those new to golf. Completing the state-of-the-art facilities is a large, 134-tee, floodlit driving range with a mix of covered and heated hitting bays, swing analysis system, and practice putting and chipping greens that emulate on course conditions, available for all golfers to develop their game.
Since 2010, the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot has been a member the Leading Golf Clubs of Germany, a tribute to its high quality and regard as one of Germany’s top golf courses. Complementing its golf facilities is the newly renovated, modern clubhouse, complete with two highly-rated restaurants, modern fitness room and spacious lounge areas for members and guests to enjoy.
Located in the Rhine-Neckar golfing region, dubbed ‘Germany’s largest golf paradise’, visitors to Golf Club St Leon-Rot are not only within easy access to 10 other top golf courses, but also to the region’s diverse culinary scene and historical landmarks. The town of Heidelberg is known for its scenic urban beauty and lively culture, attracting visitors from across the world for its music, fine arts, theatre and historical exhibitions.
